iPhone Keep Bugging You About Logging Into iTunes? Here’s the Solution

In order to download an app from the App Store to your iPhone or iPod touch, you have to enter your iTunes login password. Why, though, would your iPhone keep pestering every time you unlock it, to enter that password?

A friend recently hit me up with this question. If you see your iPhone prompting you for the iTunes password every time you unlock it, or even randomly, it usually means there’s an installation or app update that hasn’t completed. You may, if you look through the icons on your device, see an application icon that’s dimmed and says “Paused” as a caption.

It might take you a while to find it, unfortunately, but once you do, you may have to try a few things to “kick start” the app downloading process again. This pausing can occur if you pause the download manually, by tapping the icon during the process, or if for some reason the device boots during the process.

If that’s the case, supposedly you are supposed to be able to re-start the download by tapping on the Paused app. Good luck with that, as it doesn’t always seem to work. You may, in fact, have to resort to deleting and reinstalling the app from iTunes on your computer. You won’t be able to delete it from the iPhone, by the way, as holding down the icon won’t place an x in the upper-left-hand corner of the icon, where you could delete it on the device.

At any rate, you may have to experiment a little, but once you get the app downloaded again (completely), you shouldn’t be bothered by constant iTunes login prompts.
