Dell releases an all-in-one PC and a media box
TIN BOX MAKER Dell has released an all-in-one PC and a media machine as part of its Inspiron range.
The new Inspiron One is a desktop. It ships with a full HD 1080p 23-inch LED-backlit LCD screen and has an option for a quad-core processor.
Its standard features include built-in WiFi, a webcam, a DVD drive and an HDMI interface for connecting to TV tuners, cable- and satellite boxes and gaming consoles.
The Inspiron Zino HD media box is designed to connects to big-screen high-definition TVs and has an optional remote control and wireless keyboard.
The idea is that viewers can surf the Internet from their living room couch, watch Blu-ray DVDs or browse their music and photo libraries. The Zino machine is only 8 x 8-inches square and has an AMD quad-core Phenom II processor with an option for a 1GB discrete graphics card.
It has built-in networking and a media card reader, VGA and HDMI connections for displays and TVs, available THX 7.1 surround sound, an optional Blu-ray combo drive, and up to 1TB of hard disk storage.
The Inspiron One will set you back $799 and the Inspiron Zino HD is priced at $299.
